Eminent Educationist, social activist, Founder of KIIT & KISS and Lok Sabha MP from Kandhamal Dr. Achyuta Samanta has been conferred the honorary D.Litt degree by Utkal University in recognition of his immense contribution to the field of education and social service. This is the 50th honorary degree conferred on him. Utkal University, which is also Dr. Samanta's alma mater, presented the honour to him at its 52nd convocation on 23rd December 2022. KIIT Deemed to be University won the Odisha State Energy Conservation Award, 2022 on 14th December, 2022, which is observed as National Energy Conservation Day. KIIT won the award in the category of ‘Educational Institute for Best Performance in the Field of Energy Saving and Conservation’.            KIIT has implemented several programmes and initiatives for energy efficiency and resource conservation. Inaugurated By Dr. Achyuta Samanta The Campus Known As DISS Has Been Set Up With Technical Support From KISS The first International replica of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS, Bhubaneswar) has been inaugurated in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The new campus, known as Daffodil Institute of Social Sciences (DISS), was inaugurated by the Founder of KIIT-KISS University and Lok Sabha MP Dr. Achyuta Samanta on Sunday. ​​​​​​​ The residential campus has been modelled after KISS and has been set up with technical support. It will be a constituent of the Daffodil International University (DIU), the largest university in Bangladesh. Snehadeep Kumar, an Electronics and Electrical Engineering student of KIIT Deemed-to-be-University , has been nominated as a fellow of the prestigious Royal Astronomical Society, London, thus joining the club of select few Indians who have been bestowed with this honour. MoU Seeks to Develop KISS As Knowledge Hub for Volleyball & creation of 20 Volleyball Courts on The Campus The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has signed an MoU with the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) for the growth and development of youth volleyball in India and South Asia.
