The institution started its journey in 1984 by Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust. The trust was run by a visionary man Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan. The institution offers a multidisciplinary program to teach those programs the institute has qualified teachers. As the institution has qualified teachers, so the institution also offers research programs besides UG and PG courses. Located in Tamil Nadu, the campus is 305 acres big. The institution has six different campuses. 

 

The vision of the institution is to make academics flexible for the students so that they do not lose interest in it. To make the education program multifaceted, the institute has also launched new programs. The institution encourages students to do industry-relevant research works. In order to make research work effective, the institution invites top researchers of the world for collaboration.

The institution offers 40 UG and PG courses to the students. So, it can be said that the multidisciplinary educational program is pretty comprehensive and coherent with the present world. Apart from that, the institution offers 25 interdisciplinary courses and has 80 odd departments. The institution offers excellent placement service to the students once they finish the course. The course also allows the students to take internship jobs to get a better idea of the field. 

 

The institution maintains an excellent international relation with foreign universities. The institution also offers a student exchange program in which the Indian student will replace a foreign student.
