KISS Foundation- A Helping Hand During Times of Distress

The world is going through a very stressful situation for the last one and a half years. With the COVID pandemic showing no signs of slowing down, the death rates have only been increasing each day. In situations like these, seeing other diseases like Malaria and Dengue be prevalent in lesser developed areas only make the situation worse.

Unfortunately, recently a family of 9 was reduced to just 7 when the kids lost both their parents at a gap of 3 months. Amulya Champia, a resident of the Chhanchunia village, was found dead due to unknown reasons a few months back. At this time, the eldest daughter of their family was already married by then, and Subini, Amulya's wife, had somehow managed the rest of the six. They were steadily getting back on their feet when 3 months after Amulya's passing away, Subiniwas diagnosed with malaria, and eventually passed away due to it, leaving the six brothers and sisters orphans.

On their mother's death, Reshmita, the eldest among the six, took over the responsibility of her siblings and started working to earn their livelihood. She took care of the cattle or other pet animals of other villagers in exchange for money. Whatever she might be doing, it was not bringing in enough food for all six of them, and life was really taking a toll on them until Dr. Achyuta Samanta took an interest in this matter.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT and KISS, also a Kandhamal MP, saw this news on television and was immediately emotionally attached with the kids. He quickly asked his staff to help him find these kids and, in doing so, offered to help with all their problems.

Dr. Samanta offered to give them 10,000 RS starting from this month and every month after this. Along with that, they are also allowed free education in the KISS institute. All of this only goes to show the generosity and level of concern Dr. Samanta has for the public of this country, especially the youth of India.
