KIIT and KISS Observe 7th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021

The International Day of Yoga is in its 7th year since it was first observed on 21st June 2015. It had its inception at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, and since then, it is being celebrated around the world popularly. Yoga originated in India, and it is the practice of physical, mental and spiritual peace. Yoga can help a person to attain a better mental state and physical condition over the course of time. The honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, had suggested that 21st June should be celebrated as the International Day of Yoga every year because it is the longest day of the year and has a special significance.

         

 

KISS and KIIT Group of Institutions were among the many institutions that celebrated the yoga day with various yoga activities. "Yoga for Well Being" – this was the theme of the International Yoga Day for 2021. On that special event, Dr. Gaganendu Dash, Director Sports, KIIT and KISS, gave a wonderful speech. He wanted tell everyone to practise yoga every day so that they can get a healthy body and mind.

 The Founder took time to say that they alleviate our mental stress by and large". There were several other personalities of great importance – Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT DU; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro VC, KIIT DU; Prof. Jnana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU; Dr. Prasanta Kumar Routray, CEO, KISS and Registrar, KISS DU and Prof. Biswabandita Kar.

Many of the staff members of this prestigious faculty carried out different yoga postures and also described the importance of each pose. Some of the students and other faculty members also participated in this great event.
