Professors and Faculty Members of KIIT Take Part in the 7th International Day of Yoga

On 11th December 2014, India's Permanent Representative, Asoke Mukherji, passed the draft resolution in the United Nations General Assembly to collectively consider 21st June as the International Yoga Day. Yoga originated in India, and it is the practice of physical, mental and spiritual peace. Yoga can help a person to attain a better mental state and physical condition over the course of time. That is why it is important for every person to observe. The honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, had suggested that 21st June should be celebrated as the International Day of Yoga every year because it is the longest day of the year and has a special significance.

Yoga has been a part of the Indian culture for centuries now, and that is why it can't be neglected in any way. Yoga can help to deliver a host of health benefits that include - reduced stress and anxiety levels, better health, good cardiovascular health, better movements, etc. Doing yoga can bring a stupendous change in the lifestyle of anyone who tries to get it quickly. The very famous and well-known educational institution in India, KIIT, has observed the 7th International Day of Yoga as well. Yes! There were several teachers and students who were practising different ways.

The Founder and director, Achyuta Samanta, gave a wonderful speech. He said that "Yoga is the ancient custom of India and it is India's most precious gift to the global community. Many people are being attracted towards yoga around the world nowadays. In this pandemic time, yoga not only does wonders to our body, but also creates miracles to alleviate our mental stress by and large".
