KIIT CONNECT Program Orientation Program for 2021-Admitted Batch Students of 14 Schools

On October 5, 2021, The Orientation Program for 2021-admitted batch students of 14 Schools took place as part of a 12-day KIIT CONNECT program. Prof Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KISS and KIIT, graced the occasion with his auspicious presence along with Prof Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar and Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU.

               

There was a major elaboration of on-campus placement, extracurricular and academic facilities available at KIIT by Prof. Achyuta Samanta. He addressed the students and elaborated them the facilities and how they can use the same for building their careers at KIIT. He also advised them to inculcate skills and characteristics that make them great human beings.

On the part of Prof Hrushikesha Mohanty, the students were urged to use the scopes and the facilities coming their way at KIIT for creating knowledge. He also asked the students to engage themselves in project works and research activities while studying at the same time.

The international activities that KIIT deals in were explained to the students by Prof. Sasmita Samanta. She also put forward the way KIIT practices the majority of the NEP proposals of the Government of India. NEP is the newly drafted National education Policy of the Government of India.

Prof, Jnyana Mohanty carried out the responsibility of highlighting the top-quality facilities and amenities at KIIT that will not just nurture the students but will also prepare them for a successful professional and academic life.

Prof. Sasmita Samanta further stated that the KIIT Schools are comparable to the most reputed and respected national institutes when it comes to co-curricular activities, academics, projects, consultancy recognition, rank and research. Besides, she also advised the students to use all the facilities available to them for developing their careers in the best way possible.

The Orientation Program took place on the very last day of the KIIT CONNECT program that lasted for 12 days. It was a mega event conducted specifically for enlightening the admitted students of the 2021 batch. The students were offered a complete overview of KIIT and the way it works towards uplifting the education quality of the students.

The program also offered students details of the 14 different KIIT schools while having the focus on different academic systems, support systems, study courses in the 1st year, UG/PG academics, student support, examinations, student code of conduct, community engagement, counselling & mentoring, sports facilities, hostel facilities, library facilities, innovations, research, consultancy facilities, incubations, placement support, training support, quality requirements, career augmentation support, career advisory support, participative governance system, student scopes, social outreach, internationalisation and the impact of social outreach.

The 12-day KIIT CONNECT program also features some great talks by experts like Mr Rahul Bose, the well-known Indian film screenwriter, actor and director. He is also a rugby player and social activist. Then there was Mr Ameen Haque, popular story coach, diversity champion and innovation consultant.

This 12-day program comprised of 57 hours of quality presentations by 20 Units of 14 Schools on 107 Study Programs. Approximately 8000 students participated virtually in this program every day.

The vote of thanks at the program was proposed by Prof Samaresh Mishra, the Director of Student Affairs.
