KIMS Organizes 41st APICON Odisha 2021

The Department of Medicine at KIMS conducted the Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India, Odisha State Branch (41st Apicon Odisha 2021) at KIMS. This was a 3-day event conducted on 18th and 19th December 2021 with a pre-conference organised on December 17 2021, on ECG, critical Care and ECHO. The conference was inaugurated by His Excellency Prof. Ganeshi Lal, the Honorable Governor of Odisha, in the esteemed presence of the Founder of KISS and KIIT, Dr. Achyuta Samanta and the Past API or Association of Physicians of India Present, Dr. A. Murugunathan. There were other dignitaries also present at the event.

            


The location for the inaugural ceremony was the Raj Bhawan in Odisha, while the event was telecast live to the KIMS auditorium. Conference souvenir was also released by the Governor on this occasion.

The conference was conducted in hybrid mode amidst the present Covid pandemic situation. 200 doctors from different regions of Odisha attended the conference physically, while 300 doctors attended it virtually. Approximately 150 faculties holding national reputations from Odisha and even from outside the state had their lectured delivered at this conference.


The conference not only featured high-quality scientific deliberations but even had a paper presentation and mediquiz competition. The first and the second prizes in the free paper presentation and Mediquiz competitions were bagged by Dr. Rajdeep Sarkar and Dr. Gourishankar Rao from KIMS. This is a first-of-its-kind conference to be conducted in Odisha in the hybrid mode.


This valedictory event had the Chairman of the Association of Physicians of India, Odisha State Branch, along with other functionaries praising the organisers for hosting one of the most wonderful conferences in hybrid mode while abiding by all the Covid-19 norms. There were even national-level faculties expressing great satisfaction about the ambience, the infrastructure and the smooth conduction of the event, along with the quality of the exclusive scientific discussions. A total of six CME credit hours were awarded to the attending delegates by the Odisha Council for Medical Registration.
