ICDCIT 2022 Inaugurated at KIIT

On January 20, 2022, the 18th ICDCIT or International Conference on Distributed Computing and Intelligent Technology, 2022 was inaugurated at KIIT Deemed to be University. Hosted by KIIT every year, ICDCIT serves as the gateway for 18 long years now for all students, researchers and scholars across the world to exchange their thoughts and ideas in varied arenas of intelligent technology and distributed computing. The conference commended on 19th January this year with the inauguration ceremony taking place in the evening of 20th January.

Prof. (Dr.) Sasmita Samanta, the Vice-Chancellor of KIIT-DU along with Dr. Swarup Mohalik, General Chair, Research Scientist, Ericsson, Bangalore; Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar and Prof. (Dr.) Biswajit Sahoo, Director, KIIT School of Computer Engineering graced the inaugural function of ICDCIT-2022. They were all praises for the ICDCIT organizing committee and shone some light on the accomplishments of KISS and KIIT.

This was followed by the virtual inauguration of 18th ICDCIT proceedings along with the proceedings of all its varied satellite events. These include 1st Ph.D. research Symposium- a scope for the Ph.D. students to present their research articles; 11th Project Innovation Contest or IPC- a podium for the student community to put forward their innovative assignments addressing the prevailing issues faced by the society and 12th Industry Symposium- a stage for the undergraduates to highlight their research activities. The inaugural function came to an end with Dr. Subhasis Dash’s, Organizing Chair, ICDCIT, vote of thanks.

ICDCIT even features a cultural program including Arijit Bhattacharya’s melodious performance where he played Raag Khamaj on Sitar. This was followed by an elegant, semi-classical group dance performed by Kiranpravo Paul, Prapti Roy,Anushka Satpathy, Ritika Chakraborthy,Abhipsa Saha,Answesha Sahoo,Megha Chowdhury and Debasmita Sinha. The editing for the dance was done by Navarash. Monta Re, a classical song by Joyeta Mondal Kotha also enthralled the participants. The Navarash group of Korus, the Society of Music and Dance, KIIT-DU also performed a classical dance to keep the enthusiasm of the event intact. This was followed by a song on Heer Ranjha by Ritoja Basu. All the different programs at this cultural event won the hearts of the participants.

Last but not the least, Kaulina Chakraborty’s classical dance on the song Ghar More Pardesiya concluded the cultural program. All the performers were highly appreciated for the entertaining show that they put up. Gratitude was also expressed by the organizers to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KISS & KIIT for his undying guidance and support to all the different ICDCIT chapters. Mayank Kumar and Shilpi Raj hosted the event.
