IPR Awareness Program Organized at KIIT

NIPAM or the National IP Awareness Mission, Government of Indian along with Indian Patent Office Kolkata in coordination with KIIT-DU organized An IPR or Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Webinar at KIIT-DU on January 24, 2022.  

 

Dr. Rojalin Sahu, Associate Professor, SAS and Associate Dean, Central Research Centre;Prof. Prasant Rath, Dean, KIIT School of Applied Sciences (SAS); KIIT-DU; Dhiren Patnaik, Examiner of Patents and Design and Dr. Rohit Rathore, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, Indian Patent Office Kolkata attended the webinar.

The speakers at the webinar had their focus on different types of IPR protection and the varied procedures involved with the use of ample examples. They even motivated the submission of large numbers of patent applications from KIIT-DU. The speakers even conducted a pop-quiz for driving home the learning from the session and the event saw great participation, both from the faculty and the students. The vote of thanks was delivered by Er. Bibhudutta Panda, Coordinator, Outreach program, KIIT International School. The organization and the coordination of the Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Program were tasks done by Dr. Alok Kumar Panda, Assistant Professor;Dr. Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, Scientist, KIMS, and Assistant Professor, KSBT; Dr. Atul Anand Bajoria, Assistant Professor, KIDS and Dr. Mrityunjay Das, Associate Professor, SAS. Witnessing the amazing response that the webinar got from varied quarters, the coordination committee has plans of organizing many more such events in the near future.

The coordinating committee of the IPR Awareness Program offered it’s thanks to the Founder of KIIT & KISS, Prof. Achyuta Samanta along with Dr. Jitendra Kumar Pradhan, Deputy Controller of Patents & Designs and In-Charge, Design Wing, The Patent Office, Kolkata; Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar and Prof. Sasmita Samanta, VC, KIIT-DU for their support and guidance. Faculty members and students from different schools of the KIIT Group of Institutions attended the webinar.
