KIIT Celebrates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by Hosting Flag Distribution Drive in Odisha

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India focused on celebrating and commemorating 75 years of progressive India. The initiative aims to help people remember the glorious history of India's people, culture, and achievements. It is done through schemes like Ideas@75, Revolve@75, Actions @75, and Achievement@75, which focus on what has been achieved so far and what can be achieved in the future.

To commemorate and celebrate the initiative, KIIT, the leading institute of industrial technology, organized a flag distribution drive in Odisha. Prof. Achyuta Samanta, the founder and mentor of KIIT, and other staff members, distributed national flags to people in Odisha to celebrate the Har Ghar Tiranga movement. Prof. Achyuta Samanta said, "Celebrations like this are important to remind people of how hard-earned our freedom is and what it costs others to achieve it. By instilling a sense of patriotism, we can start to understand the sacrifices made for us to have the rights we do today. We must become sensible citizens and play an active role in developing and progressing our country."KIIT was established in 1992 with the vision of its founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta. It began as a small vocational training centre with only two staff and 12 students, but it soon became an institution dedicated to teaching excellence and committed to interdisciplinary culture. KIIT has grown into a leading university, with strong roots in the community and a commitment to teaching excellence.

As India celebrates 75 years since its establishment, it's time to reflect on the dramatic economic progress made at that time. At the time of independence, India was counted among the poorest countries in the world. But after years of growth, it is now ranked as one of the largest economies. This fiscal year is expected to be the fastest growing economy despite headwinds like inflationary pressures and a hostile external environment. India has reached this point after shedding the baggage of a socialist inward-looking economy after the path-breaking reforms of 1991.

On this day, seventy-five years ago, India took its first steps to become one of the world's largest democracies. It was a long and difficult journey, but India persevered and is now a strong and powerful nation. Over the years, India has left behind several landmarks that symbolize its journey from the pain of partition to a thriving nation. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is a way to showcase our pride in our nation and its progress since its independence. It is the initiative to make people do more for their beloved country and keep the pace of development going.
