THE World University Ranking 2023: KIIT Makes Significant Jump, Ranked In 601-800 Cohort

KIIT DU or the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Deemed-to-be-University made a major jump in the Times Higher Education “World University Rankings” 2023, by acquiring a position in the cohort of 601-800 as opposed to its previous position which was between 801 and 1000. This sudden rise in KIIT rankings reflects the institute’s sustained focus on superior teaching quality; research activities and a constant improvement in its reputation worldwide.

This is a good time for the University to boast about its latest rankings in Times Higher Education “World University Rankings” 2023, as it is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year, with several initiatives in line for the University to highlight its academic accomplishments. The University’s rankings stand proof of the fact that KIIT is doing much better than the other educational institutes, not just in Odisha but throughout Eastern India. Students along with the entire academic fraternity follow the Times World University Rankings to decide on their university of choice for higher education.

KIIT is considered ones of the best institutes by several academicians and that’s mainly because of its varied achievements in different fields. The university has got to this position despite being a relatively new centre of education as compared to the other legacy and respected institutes. Academicians have lauded the hard work of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the KIIT Founder, who is also known for his visionary leadership that has transformed KIIT into a universally acclaimed institute within a very short time span. Times Higher Education uses different methodologies to rank the universities and these include citations, research, teaching environment, industry income and international outlook.

A record number of 75 Indian institutes have found a position in the Times World University Rankings this year. The numbers are pretty high as compared to 56 in 2020 and 31 in 2017. According to Dr. Samanta, the reason behind KIIT’s improved ranking was the collective efforts of the staff, students and faculties, despite the fact that the KIIT family credits Dr. Samanta for this humongous success. 2023 results for Times World University Rankings have generated joy and excitement throughout the KIIT campus. Recently, the institute has even been adjudged the 20th-best university in India by the NIRF or National Institute of Ranking Framework of the Education Ministry.
